In 1994, Gorilla Life's Green Drink was developed in the kitchen of Shekinah
"Paradise" Shakur, a natural healer, seeking to cure her granddaughter's asthma.

The drink started from information gathered and a natural instinct to use a life
giving supplement. The first product that came to mind was Chlorophyll, seeing as
though it is the blood of plants. Next, she started using lemons for it's Vitamin C
content with the understanding that this would provide a natural antibiotic to the
drink. The goal was to heal her granddaughter's respiratory system and oxidize
her blood. And of course, honey provided the natural sweetener to make the
drink taste good. After a couple of months, granddaughter showed improvement
in her breathing and less bouts with asthmatic attacks. Within a year, her system
was cleansed and strengthened enough to overcome chronic asthma. Shekinah
continued to make the drink for her granddaughter throughout the years, refining
the drink and offering it to many in the community who were seeking a remedy for
their ailments. After a couple of years of offering the drink to friends and family,
Green Drink had spread by word of mouth that it aids in the healing process for
many diseases and disorders.

Shekinah has a great respect for the character and strength of the Lowland
Gorilla, a vegetarian by nature who thrives off of the green life of the jungle. Even
in the midst of endangerment, it maintains humble consumption and humble
character. So this is why the drink is named in honor of the gorilla, hoping that
humans will consume the essence of the green life and exhibit humble character
in the likeness of the gorilla. We share 98% of total DNA with these strong
creatures.

Gorilla Life
HUMBLE CONSUMPTION

The Gorilla is an example to
humanity. They eat from the
abundance of the jungle, while
living within a diverse,
sometimes hostile reality.
They have the awesome
power to conquer all, yet their
nature is humble enough to
maintain PEACE! Gorilla Life
products are made to bring
the humble spirit of the gorilla
to humankind.
The favorite plants of the
mountain gorilla are the
leaves of the hagenia and
hypericum trees and wild
celery. Western lowland
gorillas in Gabon will eat
insects, the most favorite
being the weaver ant. Some
populations consume such a
large amount of succulent
herbs that they do not need
to drink much water.
